The poetics of roads

FYI, has a good interview today with Ted Conover, author of The Routes of Man, his travelogue-cum-rumination on the meaning of human roadways.  The book is assuredly globalist, and its central contention is that the way we construct, use, and talk about roads indicates a lot about how we experience “culture” / civilization in general.  Interesting guy, interesting chat.
